Evaporative Cooler Float Valves
Float valves and float switches for Breezair, Braemar, Coolair, Bonaire, Celair, Brivis and CoolBreeze evaporative coolers, including vertical, horizontal and magnetic types.
The float controls the water level in the tray. A worn or stuck float can cause water to overflow from the cooler or leave the pump running dry.
Common questions
My cooler is overflowing – is it the float?
Often, yes. A worn washer or a stuck arm stops the float valve shutting off. On coolers with a solenoid, a solenoid stuck open can cause the same problem.
How do I know which float fits?
Check the part number or style (vertical or horizontal, thread size) of your old float, or find your cooler under parts by model.
Float valve or something else?
The float valve sets the water level in the tray. If water overflows while the cooler is running, lift the float arm by hand (power off): if the water doesn’t stop, the valve or washer is worn and needs replacing.
If water keeps running after the cooler is turned off, the solenoid valve is more likely. If water runs to drain while the tray fills, check the drain or dump valve. Use our symptom checker to find the right part.
