Evaporative Cooler Drain & Dump Valves

Drain valves, dump valves and Aquamiser kits for Breezair, Braemar, Coolair, Bonaire, Celair and CoolBreeze evaporative coolers.

These valves empty the water tray when the cooler shuts down or at set intervals, which flushes out salt and scale and stops stale water sitting in the cooler.

Common questions

Water keeps running out of my cooler – why?

A drain or dump valve that is stuck open, or a worn seal, will let water run to drain while the cooler is filling. Replacing the seal or valve usually fixes it.

The tray doesn’t empty after shutdown – what’s wrong?

The drain valve may be stuck closed or its motor or solenoid may have failed. Check the valve’s voltage and part number before ordering a replacement.

How drain and dump valves work

Many coolers empty the water tray at shutdown or at set intervals to flush out salt and scale. If the valve sticks open, water runs to drain while the cooler fills, so the tray never fills properly and the pads stay dry. If it sticks closed, stale water sits in the cooler.

Match the valve type (Bonaire Aquamiser or H2O Optimiser, Breezair 24VAC or 12VDC drain valve, CoolBreeze hydraulic drain) and the part number on your old valve. Seals are available separately for some valves. See the overflow guide and our winter shutdown checklist.
