Common Breezair, Braemar and Coolair Cooler Parts (With Part Numbers)

Breezair / Braemar MagIQtouch Touchscreen Controller #094298 – evaporative cooler part

Breezair, Braemar and Coolair evaporative coolers are all made by Seeley International, so many of their parts are shared. That’s good news when something fails: the same pump, solenoid or drain valve often fits several model ranges. This guide covers the parts that most often need replacing, with the Seeley part numbers to look for.

Safety first: coolers are usually on the roof and run on 240V. Use a safe ladder and roof access, and never work on the cooler with the power on. Any hard-wired electrical work must be done by a licensed electrician or cooler technician.

Start with your model and the part number

The quickest way to the right part is the model on the cooler’s compliance label and the number on the old part. Seeley has changed some part numbers over the years, so an old part may carry a different number to the current one. Every listing on our site shows both. If you’re unsure, see how to find your cooler model and part numbers.

Pumps

The pump lifts water from the tray to the pads. If the pads stay dry while the fan runs, the pump is the first thing to check. Many Breezair, Braemar and Coolair coolers use the Seeley Tornado pump (095806). Larger Braemar industrial coolers use the Fasco JRM50. See all Breezair pumps.

Inlet solenoid valves

The solenoid opens to let water into the cooler. A failed solenoid means no water (or water that won’t stop). Most units use a 24VAC 3/4″ valve such as the Seeley 24VAC solenoid (638638). Braemar LPQI and LPQC units use a 12VDC solenoid (865607). See all Breezair solenoid valves.

Drain valves

Drain valves empty the tray after use and on a timer, which keeps the water fresh and stops scale building up. Common ones are the 24VAC drain valve and shutoff (105345), the Braemar 24VAC drain valve (107714) for LCB and CPL units, and the 12VDC drain valve (116389). See Breezair drain valves, and our guide to dump valves and drain valves.

Float valves and water sensors

Older units control the water level with a float valve such as the vertical float valve (901114) or the Braemar horizontal float valve (905150). Many electronic units use a water sensor probe (833811) instead.

Fan motors, belts and pulleys

Belt-drive units use a 2-speed or variable-speed motor (380W up to 1500W) with an A-section V-belt. Newer Icon units use direct-drive motors (550W to 1500W) with no belt. Match the wattage and type exactly. See Breezair motors, our fan belt guide and capacitor or motor?.

Cooling pads

Breezair uses rigid Chillcel pads, sold in packs of 4 to suit EM, ES, EX, EXD and EXQ models. Braemar and Coolair use filter pads sized to the model range. See Breezair Chillcel pads and our pads guide.

Controllers, control boxes and looms

Wall controllers changed over the years, from Horizon and CPMD 4-pin controllers to the MagIQtouch touchscreen. The controller must match the control box in the cooler. Read replacing a MagIQtouch controller before ordering, or see wall controllers and looms and control boxes.
